Our first trick-or-treating was a success. (It was on Oct. 30...but that's how they do it here. They assign trick-or-treat nights to neighborhoods for the week before Halloween). Max got the picture immediately and raced up to houses to get candy. Wesley was a little shy - he'd say "trick or treat" and take candy, then turn to me and say, "Mommy, I got the candy for you!", to deflect attention from the fact that he'd really gotten the candy for himself. And yes, the cow and elephant costumes never get old. One neighbor questioned Oliver the Elephant's political stance (why no donkey in the family?)
